Hoping better results for India this series
So phase 2 of World Test Championship WTC2021-23 starts with 5 Tests series verses England in England. England on their home soil is always very difficult proposition. After 2007 Rahul Dravid's series victory, India failed to beat hosts in 2011,2014 n 2018 - MSD n Virat teams.
Hosts England got a shock as world's premier allrounder Ben Stokes taking a break from cricket citing psychological reasons. James Anderson - 39 - the old war horse with 1000 International wickets is still there with his reliable partner Stuart Broad. Ollie Robinson is the new sensation. Jofra Archer is still unfit.
India too faced some injury issues- Shubman Gill is already back in India. Mayank Agarwal got hit during net and undergoing concussion test. K L Rahul is most likely to open with Rohit Sharma. Prithwi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav has already joined the team. With more than one and half month there no issue of acclimatisation this time with even a practice match experience, Team India is hopefully better prepared. Let's see if this time also it is going ahead with 2 spinners or 4th seamer either Siraj or Shardul Thakur gets the nod. First test is always very important to set the tone.
All in all cricket lovers are in with a high quality classic test match cricket at its very home.
